What is Chiropractic?

Within our body resides an innate wisdom. This wisdom created us from one tiny cell, it inspires our smile at playing children, it brings our tears of joy and our tears of sadness, it heals our wounds when we fall and it is the driving force that allows us to succeed against all odds. It is perfect and ever-present. In our body this innate intelligence utilizes our nervous system (N.S.) as a vital means of communication. The nervous system is also the perceptual, and conceptual system of our body, meaning …

On the path to real wellness

Passionate engagement in a creative project leads to real health.
MANHATTAN, Kan., Aug. 26 (UPI) — Employees who are invigorated and dedicated at work carry over their positive work experiences for a happier home life, U.S. researchers say.
Clive Fullagar, a professor of psychology, Satoris Culbertson, assistant professor of psychology, and Maura Mills, a graduate student in psychology — all of Kansas State University in Manhattan — tracked 67 extension agents for two-weeks.

The 4 Habits of Highly Healthy People

Believe it or not these 4 factors have a huge impact on whether or not  you will have the most common deadly chronic diseases: Never smoking, having a body mass index lower than 30 (calculated as weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared), performing 3.5 h/wk or more of physical activity, and adhering to healthy dietary principles (high intake of fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain bread and low meat consumption).  A study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine (2009;169(15):1355-1362).  Adhering to 4 simple healthy lifestyle factors can have …

In Search of Perfect Health

The experience of wellness is a marker of the degree to which one is engaged in their life creatively expressed.  All disease and dysfunction physically begins first as lack of full expression in some arena of life.  It is a backward perception that having energy and passion for life follows having more physical energy and physical health and well-being.  In fact the order is just the opposite, passionate engagement in life and creative projects begets high energy and mental clarity begets good health and long life.
The cells in the human …

Are you sure you still want the swine flu (H1N1) shot?

It seems as though each day more research and surveys come out showing that health care workers as well as the general public remain reluctant to have the “fast tracked” swine flu shot.
A recent review published in the British Medical Journal looked at 2255 healthcare workers who completed questionnaires in two studies. They were doctors, nurses, or allied health professionals working in the public hospital system.  Over 50% of the respondents reported that they would not take the swine flu shot and cited fear of side effects and doubts about …

Would you take the swine flu vaccine if your doctor or nurse wouldn’t?

A recent survey of 1500 British front-line nurses in Nursing Times has shown that 1/3 will not take the swine flu vaccine because they are worried about the possible side-effects, and another 1/3 answered the survey as unsure whether or not they will have the shot.  One nurse was quoted by the magazine as saying “I would not be willing to put myself at risk of unknown long-term effects to facilitate a short-term solution.”  Another of the respondents said “I have yet to be convinced there is a genuine health …
